Dreamscapes & Artificial Architecture

Digital renderings have long served architects and interior designers to help visualize spaces before the building begins. But a new generation of digital artists are taking this craft a step further to create otherworldly scenes that can’t, and won’t, ever be built.

As co-editor of this book, I curated a series of digital artists whose fantastical visions combine desolate landscapes with peculiar interiors and impossible architecture, and worked with the writers and designers to bring this book to life.

In the press

This book turned out to be one of gestalten’s most heavily featured titles in the design press. I was interviewed for Architectural Digest (US) and Architectural Digest (Italia), Dezeen asked for my five favourite artists and the German/French broadcaster Arte ran a short segment in the book. It was also referenced and quoted in a recent piece by Uncanny Valley author Anna Wiener in the New Yorker. Further press coverage includes Wallpaper*, Italian Elle Decor and the Financial Times.
